Isaiah 50:4 (NIV) The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. This is a follow up from last week’s message on Each One is to be a shield from the wind and a stream of water in the desert. We comfort the distraught in the chaos surrounding them. This morning we see that God is asking us to be ready with words for the weary. This means that in the chaos of life we are not the ones complaining, but through Christ we are the ones who have words of truth, hope and power. We are the light of the world. However, to have words to sustain the weary, we must receive from Jesus the before we can offer any comfort to others. By examining this verse, we see how we can fulfill our God given ministry to those who are struggling.
